i am trying to write a book and i find it very hard not to make it liek twilight! gahh

twilight was horrible compared to the host. if u have read the twilight saga and haven't read the host, read that. its WAY better

I've read all the Twilight books and Midnight Sun (Edward's perspective). I've also read The Host. The Host is the same type of love story that Twilight is set around science fiction (aliens). How is The Host "WAY better" than The Twilight Saga when it's essentially the same story? I mean, I respect your opinion, but I don't get it.

i just didnt like in twilight how bella acted. in the host, melanie knows exactly who she wants. she isnt torn between two. bella was just really mean to both edward and jacob. i dont get how if she loves edward SO much, why she couldnt just choose hiim. i like the host better also becuz vampire love stories r way over used. but the host is something ive never heard of, and i just really like the characters in the host better. it was more interesting for me.

Yeah, but Wanderer, or Wanda doesn't know exactly who she wants. She's torn between Ian and Jared. It tore Bella up that she hurt Jacob and she loved Jacob. She even selfishly loved Jacob, but she was in love with Edward. It was a complicated situation. But, if you are tired of the vampire genre, I can understand that.

but the situation with wanda and jared was different than with jacob and bella. wanderer was basically FORCED to love him. it was the body the programmed her into loving him. but her herself was sure that she loved ian.

I disagree with your viewpoint of it. She didn't HAVE to love Jared and Jamie the way she did. Proof of that is that she still had love feelings for them when she got a new host. It was STILL a love triangle. If you don't like Twilight, fine. But, The Host, in my opinion, is not WAY better. In fact, I was a little disappointed with how similar the stories were. I was looking for something vastly different. But, I guess that's her thing.

But, I liked The Host. It was okay. I don't know how they're going to make it into a movie.  I think that would ruin the book. What do you think?
