Mr Grayish,
Kept silent for a while 'cause I thought I was BUGGING you a little too much (ha ha). But I like to keep contact with anyone who shares my interest in roaches, whether it's scientific or sentimental like mine. If you like, you can check out and join my website about bug commercials in flickr/groups. Type Raid Bug Drama in the search window. Gotta get some discussion going.

my pygmy chameleon would love those :D

@MrGrayish Yes I well understand they are not permanently white. Not sure if he meant he wanted an actual white species or just wanted to get them in the white molten stage. Will have to talk to him again. Unfortunately, I've been out of the home where I lived with the German roaches for 14 years. Before I run out of space, I want to thank you for responding to all my messages so quickly. I've left messages on so many of these pages and most NEVER get back to me!

@pierre72ify Well as I said they are not white roaches. They are white only at birth or after molting. All invertebrates do the same thing, although the postmolt color varies. Your german roaches do it too if you just happen to be lucky to spot it. There would be therefor no sense to breed them for that. Most of the the time they are brown or what ever their color happens to be.

@MrGrayish Pretty sure I read the term albino roach in Cockroach Combat Manual by Austin Frischman and maybe other books. It's been about 20 years since I read those. I think they mentioned that the common species like German go through "albino" stages also, but I don't remember seeing any of my German white. I'm also sure though that they agree with you that it is not really a scientific term. I know a man who would like to breed a couple white roaches. You have any right now?

@pierre72ify I've never heard of this 'common term' be used, but I would like to discourage using it since it's misleading. Albimism is a real thing and quite different from being post-molt. As for the size of the roaches.. the picture isn't magnified, but you don't really have any reference of the size in the clip so it's difficult to see how bit they are. You can get some idea from the coconut shell on the right. You can see a medium sized adult male on my other video. Females are bigger.

@MrGrayish Thank you for the information. It is hard to see the mom with the babies all over her, but I took a better look this time and you're right she IS huger than them. The picture must be magnified a few times since they look about as large as the three pet Madagascans I had 10 years ago who were adults, maybe not quite. Albino is a common term used to describe roaches of many species who are in a certainly molten stage when they are white. Out of space. Thanks again.
