UC Davis's FSAE car flipping off the tilt table at FSAE California 2011. The car was accidentally taken over 60 degrees to about 80 degrees.

Test for fuel/oil leaks and center of gravity. The tilt test simulates lateral g-forces by tilting the car on its side. When cornering, these cars have been known to pull up to 1.5 lateral g's. If the cars cg is too high it could flip over.

the strap did not break .. it was never set up properly in the first place. There only needs to be a small amount of slack in order to see the tire lifting at 60. I mentioned it to the guys running this when we were on the tilt and they said it needed to be like that. You can see how the hook came off the tube when it was shock-loaded.
Did you guys get your car started after this?

@SIXpoint0H Yeah it took about 3.5 hours out of our day to get it to start though. Ended up missing acceleration and skidpad.
