headed out for our first cod run for the season, horry dropped a 80cm+ fish after he pretty much came to the boat without much fuss then turned and burried him in the willows with a powerfull dive, then I had a shocker thinking the green fish had had his run. Needless to say the light line and leader i have been using chasing yellas has been stripped and the cod gear is on, very very lazy of me. Just hope I can hook a few next trip to redeem myself....................tossbag

mate had this problems too last year when doing Bimini twist and then an albright knot. Couldn't work out WHY the fuker was slipping. Old shags recommended some superglue over the knot. Nice cod mate how long ya reckon? Big head on him..Good vid

yeah mate I was still fishing with 8lb braid and 10lb leader, didnt change over from chasing yellas for the last month or two, so i deserved it for being lazy. I reckon 60-65cm, he was in good condition.

Had this happen to me as well years ago with a 1,20 m+ pike on light perch gear , had battled that fish for approx. 20 min , it had already come up to boatside to see , who's teasing her , just to go down again to stick to bottom .

Upped anchor to pull her free and got her into fight again , but some motor yachts were coming up the river , me drifting right into their course , therefore had to down anchor again , and finally the line snapped on the anchor rope !

OH SHIT .don't you hate that .snapped line and a good lure toboot. was the drag a bit tight ?i always use light drag and thumb it just for that reason ..bugger.went to mulwala and met steve and his wife .great people and he fixed me up ..thanks to you .not a good result for the weekend but had plenty off beer !!..cheers REG
