  • musical taste is subjective, and thus so are the performances, and although the scores contain nuances that will serve as reference, finally, the personality of the interpreter is the one seen and heard at that time. I like this variation Shiff. as it looks. although it is incredible that Gould.

  • Good performance

  • @tallswede68 With respect to all present, I humbly suggest that there is a marked tendency among connoisseurs of classical music to regard the first truly great recording or performance of a work they heard as setting a standard against which all later performances and recordings of the same work are judged. It is largely unconscious I think and completely understandable. Both Gould and Schiff are world class pianists. There are no objective criteria to settle the issue as to who is better.

  • @Ferien7 Thank you.

  • @acbulgin2 well said sir

  • played so good.....

  • I can safely say that I have abused the play button at this point.

  • piano is his favorite toy!!!

  • Amilyen jól játszik, olyan aljas saját hazájával szemben. Szégyelje magát és ne tegye be a lábát többé Magyarországra.... Pfuj!

  • Schiff is traiter!

  • @acbulgin2 hey...the sound quality is more than adaquate for gould-especially in the 2nd version. personally,i don`t mind the humming because he`s not emoting or self congratulatory like the extraneous sounds which Keith Jarrett makes.

as for Schiff-he`s a great player but personally i find him a bit precious in his way...we should be thankful there are so many different approaches.

  • I heard him yesterday in Milan's Conservatorio (Music hall). Great performance, really no words....I heard him several times (playing Schumann and Beethoven as well) and everytime I'm astonished admiring his ability in the interpretation of the music pieces and his excellent skills

  • I loved this
