I forgot to mention I have a 1.6GHz Nano Processor with 2GB of RAM. I doubt I should need anything more than that to make a simple SDK IDE run.

Not sure what you mean. It will take that long on most computers on first startup.
It runs a lot quicker the second time it starts. Also, as for the download speed - I have 10MB optic fibre line for Internet
Are you running 2010 yourself?
