My bassett does the same thing before I put her in the car. She hates riding, but loves going to the park.

classic. mine does the same thing. halfway through a walk she will lay down and not move. so frustraiting.

I have a Dachshund, and he does this too. He'll lie on his back and wags his tail at you. He wants his tummy rubbed, Your dog probably wants his tummy rubbed.

my basset does that too! my husband took her for a walk and she refused to walk back. we live up a hill so she laid down on her back and refused to move. as i'm watering flowers outside, i see my husband carrying our 45 pound basset back home...haha....but i love her :)
