In addition to a solar reflective coating to keep the cockpit cool, a thin-film gold coating is used as an anti-fog device, eliminating the need for blowing air to defog the front windows. A PPG representative explains.

Ahhhhhh taking out the fun of jumping into a cold - fogged up/ frosted over winshield office on a STAR flight ..... hitting the APU start switch 80 thousand times to get some heat ... where's the fun in flying at 5am in the dead of winter?

In absolute fairness to Airbus, this was just a movie theater in the shape of the A350 displaying some of the features that would be found in their XWB. The windows were simply painted on. We just had some fun with it.
