@lesterado I think you could do with a little more maturity in your comment. First, the Baiyue were themselves in constant conflict, since they were not united on the same front. Second, many if not most of their kings were resigned to assimilation into the Han (they would be annihilated anyways). There were also instances of self-sabotage and subsequent submission. Third, they have been pretty much been sinicized for close to two millenia. In short, denying the Huaxia part of you is plain dumb.

The addition of orchestra is totally redundant and shallow. It distains the archaic beauty of nanyin music and, most of all, it disturbs the original motif of this song. Nanyin needs modern novelties added in the contemporary composition and rendition but not in this superficial hit-and-run way.
