Bring the arts back to public schools with The Right Brain Initiative!

After decades of budget cuts, the arts are disappearing from Portland-area schools. And with them, the bright possibilities percolating in the brain cells of our children. The Right Brain Initiative—linking arms with local school districts, businesses, government, foundations, and the arts community—has a powerful vision of fostering a new culture of creativity within all Portland area K-8 schools. We currently bring music, dance, visual art, theater, media and literary arts to over 11,000 students, while empowering nearly 600 teachers with the ability to integrate creativity into their classrooms. With your help, we'll grow to serve all K-8 students in the region, regardless of their neighborhood, language or readiness to learn.
