Here's Chapter 25:
*Beth's POV*
I woke up the next morning to someone chucking something at my bedroom window. I slowly got out of bed and looked out the window, not seeing anything until a little pebble hit my window. I flinched and jumped back at surprise. I fearlessly approached the window again and looked down in my front garden and saw Nick standing there. I smiled just at the sight of his face.
I opened my window and stuck my head out so he could see me. "What are you doing? Are you trying to give me a heart attack?" I joked laughing. "Ha, sorry. I just wanted to come and see if you're okay. You seemed quiet yesterday." He told me.
"No, i'm fine." I smiled, trying to hide the face that i wasn't. "Shut up, no your not. Get dressed and come down here. We're going for a walk and a talk." He demanded. I let out a chuckle and closed my window. Today wasn't as sunny as usual. It was humid but cloudy. I threw on some three quarter length denim jeans and a loose plaid top with some red converse sneakers.
I raced down the stairs and walked out to the front garden where Nick was swinging on the front swing. When he saw me he shot me a smile and i soon returned. "C'mon! We need some catching up to do." He said already walking infront of me. I caught upto him and we walked in silence for a couple of minutes until he broke the silence that loomed over us.
"So, what's up? You've been quiet for the past 2 days and it isn't right." He half asked, half explained. "I guess things with Joe and stuff have just been on my mind." I answered with half the truth. "What about Joe?" He asked curiously. I stopped to think for a moment if i should tell him about yesterday in the kitchen. "Last night, when i took my plate in from dinner, you saw Joe follow me right?" I paused, waiting for his answer. He nodded and concentrated hard on the floor.
"Well, he doesn't get why i don't want to be with him and he was telling me how he thought we shared something special .. and we did. It's just .. i don't know. It doesn't feel .. right?" I spoke quickly. Nick was silent for a couple of minutes and i got that anxious feeling in my stomach. "Say something." I broke the silence. He let out a small laugh at my comment and started to speak.
"I know he really likes you and your all he talks abou--" He began but i butted in. "You're not helping the situation here Nicky boy!" I remarked. He laughed and continued. "Anyway, what i'm saying is everything happens for a reason and i think Joe needs to realize that. I think he also needs to realize that you may not be the one for him but he just doesn't see that right now because he's so infatuated by you." "Just give it time and he'll lay off you, and maybe find someone else." He finished.
"Seriously .. are you really 16?" I asked him, stunned by his theory. He let out a light laugh, shook his head and looked down. "So your not?!" I acted shocked. "No, erm a matter of fact i'm related to Edward Cullen." He replied joking around. I pulled a shocked face. "No way! Could you like .. hook me up with him?" He laughed and playfully punched my arm.
"This was nice though, just hanging out and catching up." I smiled nonchalantly. "Yeah, it was." He smiled back.
I'll probably post tomorrow after work, depending on what time i get home. :)
