The Galaxy Invader is a 1985 sci-fi movie directed and co-written by Don Dohler. The monster in the film looks like the Creature from the Black Lagoon, but is shown to have illuminated eyes on the VHS and DVD covers, similar to those of Jawas.

In the introduction which is orchestrated with a background synthesizer soundtrack, a glowing object which seems to be a meteor careens toward the Earth. A young man who sees it is narrowly missed as it flounders, completely unlike a meteorite over his car, and heading back towards the sky before it falls into the forest ahead of him. A couple hours later, the man hears a noise in the basement and goes down to see what it is. He is surprised and wrestled to the ground by the green monster known as the 'Galaxy Invader'.

In addition its the overall low-budget quality, the film's climax features a particularly unconvincing dummy plummeting over a cliff, its "limbs" twisting and contorting in a comically unnatural manner.

  • A lot of the negative comments here are just wrong. For the budget and the resources this film has way more going for it than a million film nerds with a million Mummy & Daddy bought video cameras. Don Dohler is one of my favourites and I loved his films, they're weird, wonderful, funny, different, interesting and beat the pants off most other amateur semi-pro attempts I have witnessed.

  • This is a baaad movie. I am from the planet Klingon and even our movies are better than this

  • 1:15:50 Ahhahhhhahhahahaha that was THE worst

  • I cut right to the chase 1:15 and was assaulted with the worst fight seen I ve ever seen...is this almost over ?

  • Worth every second of my time watching it. The ending is priceless. I can't stop laughing. Thanks Mike and Jay!

  • Well, that happened. I guess I'll just, go over here and do something else now.

  • I still can't get the distinct feeling I've seen this movie before...bah probably nothing

  • I was a teenager in the early 80's and now I really miss those days when all the chicks knew how to walk in their tight smokin hot jeans, lookin slutty and wern't afraid to show ya just how dirty they could get...

  • @toamatoro614 . I have yet to see Super 8. If your referring to the remake of War of the Worlds I was let down, the original was better (I was born in mid 50's). Predator 1 was good when I saw it the first time. I liked it. Of the two I did see, yah, all would qualify as 'better' than the wonderful camp film shown here. Recent flick I rated a 8 on IMDB? Thor. Go figure.
