@emellylop - Also, alpargatas are actually the kind of shoes we wear in the farms for work (im a veterinarian), thats why they are so cheap. Im truly amazed how in the USA they are so expensive and people use them to go out and stuff like that.

@AnatomiaUSAL yes I actually know the story. you know the Toms label is like the Argentina flag blue and white. My dads friend is from Argentina and he told me that they cost like $5 each.

@emellylop Here in Argentina we have been using 'toms' like shoes for decades. Google images for 'Alpargatas' and you will see where TOMS owner got the idea from. So basically, your TOMS are fake Alpargatas... and they cost u$s48 where Alpargatas cost about u$s5.

When i first heard of toms i wanted some because everyone had some i loved them! Now i get them because the kids dont worry about how they look they wear toms to have shoes and not just be part of the group.
