A vintage game from the classic sports era (which ended to me around 1965). The game featured the Dallas Texans (Now the Kansas City Chiefs) and the Houston Oilers (Now, as you should know, the Tennessee Titans). Some classic footage here, which was broadcaster on ABC. Amazing my grandfathers tape survived all of these years.

  • AWESOME!!!!!

  • This game was played on December 23rd, 1962. Oilers reciever Hennigan had 3 receptions for 37 yards in this game.

  • Any plans to add anymore AFL games or old NFL games?

  • This is NFL History, even though it was the AFL.

  • Never did I think that I would see this game again.I watched it at my sister's apartment, two days before Christmas that year. The reference to JFK attending a game was priceless.

I' also liked Stram's noting that they had brought the title back to Dallas-but not for very long as they left for Kansas City after that season.Perhaps the wrong team left town.

  • I love this! I have always loved watching old football footage from before I was born in '75 and see how much the coverage of the game has changed since over the years, even in my lifetime as well.

  • To KassackRock....Thanks so much, guy, for posting this game !! Tonight, I was watching "The Longest Game Ever Played" on the NFL Network, a look back at the Christmas Day ' 71 AFC Playoff between Miami & Kansas City....and, when the game went into OT, the narrator mentioned how Hank Stram & Len Dawson had been down this road before...and they flashed this very footage on the screen...awesome beyond words !! I never realized Curt Gowdy did both games !!! I was 10 that day in '71. Great memories

  • TheKassicRock do you/family have more tapes whit old games?

  • @tbear4pa I thought the "Big A" logo was replaced in September of 1962 by the current ABC logo.

  • Thanks for posting this game. I love to watch vintage football films. This is great stuff !
