I can date the first Tull show I went to. If you look up the archives of "The Schaefer Music Festival" held in Central Park NYC, you'll find in 1969 July 28: Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Jethro Tull. On the way out I spotted Ian loading his equipment into the trunck of a rental car. The girl I was with asked me to get an autograph, so I went over and asked for 2. On June 8 at Red Rocks I will travel from Calif to Denver to see Tull again for the first time in 42 years!! Whopppieee!!

"Here's the title track from ma' new record" )) or at least that's what it sounded like

Rare stuff. Later that Same Evening was probably my fave song from Under Wraps.

underwaraps sets the medium tull fan from the deep tull fan. This tour was kick ass, this video is really good. Everything on tis tour was really good.

Ian doesn't like Passion play very much. Rock Island and Catfish are just not good enough compared to the other stuff (at least in my opinion). But I thought they still play a song here or there from RTB? As for Minstrel and Under Wraps, the answer is simple: The greater parts of those albums are just not within Ian's range of voice anymore. But I doubt that UW is completely being ignored by the Band, since it is Martin Barre's favorite album.

It seems like so many abulms (Passion Play, Minstrel in the Gallery, Under Wraps, Rock Island, Catfish Rising, and Roots to Branches for example.) are never played live anymore OR even mentioned by the band. It's almost as if they never even existed.

Nice to hear from another Tull fan,my first album was Aqualung I think I've just about got the rest after that.I'm off to Newcastle city hall to see them on 8th May.I hope you enjoy the concert next month.Cheers!

I too love the Under Wraps album and have never really understood why so many "vintage" Tull fans (of which I'm one) disliked it so much and still do. I saw this tour at Hammersmith Odeon, as it was then. The last tour where Ian could still sing a full pelt...
