how did u get a goonch? i want one really bad

@viperBSG ehehe, they are just commonly known as "maneaters" they dont really eat people. besides, i dont think the goonch have a suitable environment to grow to huge sizes here in the US. also, the bigger species could stay back there. i don't believe that any foreign species can destroy an ecosystem. it's just another story like "global warming"

@zaracki92 Thank God it happened to the Snakehead. When the Goonch gets big enough it can and will attack people.These fish belong in there own enviroment.Theres no problem with responcible owners. but with more and more ppl being not responcible. leave these exotic types in there own enviroment.
For all, who asked for getting a goonch catfish;
Just search ;-) . Maybe you can find some offers on Monsterfishkeepers. I think that getting a Goonch is much more easier in the US that here in Germany because most of the people here don't like predatory fish or "monster fish". But anyway I was searching for them and finally found them. Currently I own three Bagarius bagarius and one B. yarelli. But I'm looking for more, especially B. suchus. I really love this fishs! ;)

how big do they get in a tank and what is the minimum tank size.

@gavinrocks101
well, this species (Bagarius bagarius), the smaller one, needs a tank with a minimum length of ~51" (in my opinion). They are not active swimmers. Most of the time they're motionless.
But pay attention for the correct species. He're in Germany the small Bagarius bagarius are imported as Bagarius yarelli (the largest species) and Bagarius yarelli are named Bagarius bagarius. So most of the dealers do not know how to differentiate this rare catfishs.

think it will eat shrimp, squid or mussel?

@ugnac
they don't like most frozen food for a long while. But I think it's possible to feed bigger ones with shrimps.

@ugnac
my Bagarius cf. bagarius are really insectivor. They like crickets, mealworms and so on...
But they eat frozen fish like stint, too.
