  • o.o Holy shit. How many minutes were those three RTR's at 3 3/4"? O.O

  • It is 90 minutes per side @ 1800ft. So about 180 minutes per reel.

Truth is, I've only played through the first side and only half of the other of just this reel. I still have 2 more reel to do.

  • whats with the rabbit ears on top of the reel to reel does it make it play back better:)

    kidding

  • Temporary dipole antenna for the receiver until I get an antenna mounted in the attic.

  • i love my sony pro unit i have had for years and my tascam unit.

  • Good friend gave it to me 3 years ago.

  • VERY NICE! Those tapes sound fantastic!

    I like your GX 260 D!

  • There's a lot to be said about analog vs. digital. I will take analog any day over digital. I have a Sony TC630 R to R and I run it through 2 Olson Electronics 12 watt tube amps I built as kits back in about 1964. (The amp kits sold for $19.95, with all 5 tubes back then. A similar kit now is well over $500. One lousy 6V6 output tube now costs $20)

Most of my music collection is on 12" vinyl, not CD's. What a difference in sound quality. The CD's sound so artificial when compared to vinyl.

  • VERY VERY COOL!! GREAT MUSIC AND SOUND!

  • I'm pretty sure that was the second version of Peter Gunn that Mancini recorded for the soundtrack of "Gunn" around '68.

  • Guys, my dad had some of these and if i can remember right, each side of the spool had 4 tracks... I think it could play 4X90 minutes per side. We had a Grundig player. Wow! this video has just brought back great memories.

  • Great video of a vintage reel-to-reel deck. I have an Akai 1730D.SS that I have used in my stereo setup for some years now. It is not solenoid control like your model is but it is 4 channel Stereo although I have only used it as two channel. Maybe I'll post a video of it.
