One of the best songs ever by either DT or LTE.
To this day I think that the two LTE albums are the most proggy but also most melodic (simply THE BEST) things that DT was able to come uo with...
I'd love to hear them play more such jazzy/fusion/prog stuff on DT albums instead of that commercial metal type of stuff...

I can't really understand what's wrong in comparing these bands, even you - by saying that LTE is better - in a way, compared them, because you listened to 1st band than the 2nd and you had to COMPARE to chose the better one. What is my problem is that knowing that these guys CAN write such great music like they wrote for the two LTE albums, it is a pity that they don't write more of such music for DT, which is their MAIN band (at least was until Portnoy left), that's why i made such comparison

@nuncjusz1 i agree that LTE is better but i don't like the idea of comparing the two bands x)
sorry xD

Ok i put it that way: 'if we put together DT stuff and LTE stuff i think LTE stuff was the best thing that Portnoy/Petrucci/Rudess were able to come up with'. Other words: "from all the music Petrucci/Portnoy/Rudess ever written, i like LTE stuff the best'". This is more or less what i meant. Besides, i think DT and LTE styles are similar to that point that it is perfectly OK to compare them and since both projects involve virtually the same men, we can judge them on equal basis.

@nuncjusz1 what the fuck? "the two LTE albums are the most proggy but also most melodic (simply THE BEST) things that DT was able to come uo with..." DT and LTE are different bands and just because they are almost all from DT that doesn't mean they should be compared -.-

The best thing about LTE? No lame broadway wannabe singer (sorry DT fans, you know deep inside it's true)...
But I digress. Saw LTE in 1998 and it was one of the seminal concert experiences of my twenties. Totally fantastic in every way. I even got past Jordan's slightly twee synth patches.

best song ever

Hope you're referring to the early crowd, because I was at the late crowd right in front of Johnny

That may be the most wonderful melodi in history. <3

I agree with you :)
nun, that definitely makes sense to me. will be interesting to see what they come up without Portnoy, but I can guess it still won't be as good as this
