AMC made a hell of a machine, Chrysler ruined them catering to all the yuppies, built them down to mall crawlers! The 304 AMC put into those little bodies made tigers out of them, a little over powered, but no replacement for displacement.

my dad had a 75 renegade cj7 same colore as that one! He had the 304 with a crawler cam edlebrock intake and a holley 4 barrel carb(not sure if it was a 650 or 750 this was back in 1981) that thing hauled ass!!!! It also had the levi interior package great memories good times!

Did you happen to have your lockers locked? It didn't look like it. If my CJ5 had both lockers locked it would've went right up that thing. Nice hardtop by the way, I can't find one for mine they are so rare. Don't sell it to anyone!I found a couple on Ebay but I can't see paying 2,000 dollars for cracked beat up fiberglass and broken windows. The top is fixable, and I could fix it but won't pay 2,000 dollars for a beat up piece of shit.
