Misfiring lead me to upgrade to an MSD (PN 8239) flat terminal coil pack for DSMs and Neon's/SRT-4s. I also installed Magnecor KV85 (PN 45277) wires for compatability purposes. Purrs better than ever. Next couple stages will be an 2.2L IM swap and eventually a set of 22E/22T hybrid heads.

  • any chance you can make a video on how you made the wires work on the coil?

  • @GarrettGiuffre Hey what's up!! I would but I don't have the car anymore. If you click on my build link from RS25.com below my video, you'll find a hyperlink on the first page that'll take you straight to the coil pack mod.

  • I tried installing an MSD 8239 on a 99 Outback. I could not get it to work due to it being transistorized or something. I have the harness for it both brand new, $60.00 shipped.

  • @tedqb360 Your coil pack has a built-in igniter. These coil packs only work with external igniters.

  • cool, vid. i cant wait for you to do my MSD. you do work on Hondas right???

  • If I can wire anything up, so can you!!!

  • These coil packs have a higher output voltage, which allows you to run slightly more spark plug gap over the OEM coil pack.

  • I suck at math.
