Using Audacity, a program that records and mixes audio, I've assembled the first chase theme from the Dukes of Hazzard. As far as I can tell, this song only plays in two episodes: 'One Armed Bandits' and 'Mary Kaye's Baby'. This is probably one of my favorite songs from the show, I hope you'll enjoy it too!

  • no wonder there aint many of them 69 chargers around them duke boys jumped em all lol what better car to use tho... its a mean looking car id get outta the way of a charger r/t day

  • Thanks for giving us this video/music. However this music was played in ALL 5 original GA shows. I don't think it was played in the stupid California version but I could be wrong. I just didn't care nor watch the silly CA (Hollywood) version. Thanks again.

  • ive looked for a long time to find that melody. i would love that on cd.

  • As others have said, the setting, the "moody weather", etc. made a difference in Georgia. Much as I love the Dukes overall, the first five have that inherent advantage. Not just location, but factors like music made a HUGE difference. ANOTHER great song -- the background music by the Waylors with Bo and Jill in "One Armed Bandits," also played just before the brawl in the opening scene of "Double Sting" (in Calif, yes). The season one closing theme, the original guitar pick shot, etc. Thanks!

  • @buickdude69 Right on about the first five episodes. I DO think there were good stories in the other seasons, and I do like how it became more of a family show (following the formula in place at the time, the Dukes should have regressed like much of the rest of TV). But, with setting, music, etc., you're on target. A word I like to use -- REAL. Covington and Conyers were REAL. In Burbank, you even see the giant studios in the background. Even in fantasy, one needs a basic reality. Thanks!

  • whats this song called

  • The 1st 5 shows are the ONLY shows there ever was "to me". Once they moved it to California, the story-line and plot sorta changed, Rosco got stupid, it all got stupid. The Georgia shows I cherish. Just think how much better the show would have been had they left things alone and kept it in Georgia. Love this music, and Waylon and his band.
