What's so special about this? Search for "Corolla E10 diesel", the first video of old corolla (92-96) starting @-21*C. My petrol E10 starts @-28*C after being outdoor for few days or even a week. You only need a good battery and good oil. No rocket science here.

why don't they leave it for 10 hours there and see if it starts then
-
WTF? Haven't you heard that there is so called "arctic diesel" that remains as liquid until about -45C
-
@klramon hahaha ye :)
-
@sleepzou ok then alaska.
-
@klramon eeeh sweden -44°C bullsh*t. then it must have ben in a lab :P
the temperature never´ever in hell gets to -44°C
-
It will start. They tested it in even worse conditions. Like in Sweden... At about -44 °C. The thing is that the diesels now are as good as normal petrol engines if not better. Do you really think that vw will send a car to production without testing it?
-
Leave it in -30 C for 12 hours, then start!
-
In Poland we have a lower temp. in winter ...

TRUE ! :D
LoL. I used to not like, or better said, trust VW, but then I test drived one and I LOVED IT! then I bought another, and another. I have three VW's and I've convinced 18 of my friends to buy them. They really do work in cold temps, and they are reliable. I'm content...beyond that is.

Actually I was in Siberia but it started right up. I remember as I turned the key thinking if only TrapOxidizer were here I could say "ha, sucka." But you never showed.
