Sun Conure Trick Training: Ball Trick

Another video of Stewie demonstrating the first trick he ever learned: retrieving a whiffle ball into a small cup.

Please note: The cage in this video is NOT his daytime cage; it is only a travel cage. Sun conures and birds of their size require much larger cages than this to live in. It's only used as a training surface for the purposes of this video. Please do your research on appropriate cage sizes before bringing home any parrot.

I have two sun conures at home. How could I train them to do this?

We use clicker training. This was the first trick he learned, but it tends to be more logical to teach "retrieve" first, then you teach your bird to retrieve into the cup rather than your hand. You can visit my blog and click on the Training category to see more info on trick training.
