  • as a fiscal conservative you'd have to be a complete dunce not support legalizing marijuana.

  • @publicsdv yes, but in some cases morals and common sense should prevail over money

  • @johnfredrickson1 morals?

I'd like to hear you make a moral argument against marijuana legalization. Or for that matter - a moral argument against allowing sick people to access the medicine they desperately require to lead a half-decent life. I'd like to hear that, but I know it won't happen, because such an argument does not and cannot exist.

  • @publicsdv

Medicinal marijuana is a completely different topic. What Layton is talking about in this video is marijuana for recreational use.

  • Just legalize marijuana already!

Christ almighty, Canada is still in the victorian era.

Legalize it, at least for cancer patients. Wasn't marijuana legal years and years ago, BEFORE big pharma took over ??

Of course, it's all about the money here. Sick sick sick world.

  • We will miss you Jack and the world is a great loss now that you have passed on. Cannabis has been the only thing that has brought my epilepsy under control when all other prescriptions I've been given has failed. I hope that someday the government will grow up and see all the benefits that cannabis has to offer because of the cannaboids inside it then stand behind outdated politics that are built on little to no facts.

  • the only thing i have against marijuana is that it makes some people lack motivation to do something productive. I can see why it's illegal for that reason, but it should not be criminalized it's far from criminal activity.Do I think i'm breaking the law when I buy marijuana from a buddy or a dealer? no.

  • RIP

  • @johnfredrickson1 i agree common sense should prevail over money and common sense is it should be legalized

  • @johnfredrickson1 What are your views on the recreational use of alcohol and cigarettes? Surely you are opposed to those substances as well.

If not, then you are simply a hypocrite.

  • @johnfredrickson1

Why don't we make obesity illegal, or cigarettes, or driving... since you're so concerned of the well being of people.

  • @honestpagan1 I do get a pang when the supply runs low, like when I see there is only one tea bag left or one roll of TP. I have gone without using for months at a time, when I need to cross the border. I know there are times I can't recall things, gapping out so to speak, but my late mom had that problem and never partook of the herb. I asked her when she was in chemo and she refused because of the stigma attached. Score one for the anti-pot forces. May they suffer a similar fate.
