  • Kestrel...NOT peregrine...

    1. Peregrines prefer to nest on rock faces or high up.

    2. That call is a kestrel exhibiting threatening behaviour. I know because i work with birds of prey and we are surrounded by kestrels.

    3. Yes you idiots were disturbing the nest so they attacked you.

    Shall i continue?

  • a bit late to the discussion but, I am a falconer, and I am pretty good at identification. Does look a bit small for a peregrine, it could have been a falconer's lost bird, and maybe a hybrid? Depends on your country if this is Africa, it could be could be a Barbary Falcon ( two subspecies of Falco peregrinus, or is a separate species, F. pelegrinoidesvs) similar to F. Peregrinus but smaller. Really hard to tell as it was hard to film. didnt seem to serious in stooping the dog. They get bored

  • @oterazor I kinda worry for the birds you work with if you think that's a kestrel.

  • wut...why would a peregrine attack a dog? It must know a dog is too big for it to carry.

  • @oterazor For such a cocky sod you appear to no very little. You obviously don't study your Kestrels very well since this is a blatant Peregrine - for a start its bloody massive. Freeze frame at 0:19 / 0:20 for a clear view displaying all features. Also I have never heard of American Kestrel attacking people even in defence of their nest (as the Peregrine clearly is doing) which leads me to wonder what the hell you are talking about...

    Shall I continue?

  • falcon got pissed lol

  • @oterazor

No, its a peregrine. Look for example at 0:06

  • Looked like a pere to me but im no expert.

  • the music comes from my WC!

  • it must have been kind of cool being so close to it. please try to stay away from that area until the falcons leave. Thanks for the vid

  • @puntolover21 you have no idea !Peregrine is different.I no a hawk would have a heavy blow, but a peregrine is different it is the fastest animal ever lived remember. So if U got hit by a peregrine you wouldent know what hit you!!So dont say that.AND TYPE IN PEREGRINE VS RED TAILED HAWK COZ PEREGRINE FALCON WINS!!!
