how to build a potato gun - pvc pipe spud gun

they say idle hands are the devil's workshop. bored on a saturday afternoon, my buddy and i downloaded some basic plans from the internet and had a working gun by sundown. half how-to and half entertainment, i hope this video inspires you to make one of your own. total cost: $17.

Here's the parts list (as requested many, many times) From gun's barrel to chamber:
1.5" PVC pipe (2 feet - barrel)
1.5" to 3" expander
3" PVC pipe (1 foot - chamber)
3" female threaded plug
3" threaded cap
Push button BBQ lighter
Purple PVC Primer
PVC Cement/Glue

Follow directions on cans for priming and cementing. You can substitute pipe sizes: barrel should be twice as long and half the width of the chamber.

@NoScoper2014 We used a number of things, including aerosol hair spray, WD40 and tried a few other things. The hair spray was most reliable, but the acetylene (used for welding) was by far the best. One important thing is making sure enough oxygen can get into the chamber before combustion - so spraying too much of anything tends to result in a weaker blast.

I actually made one just like tht a few days ago before i saw this i made two of them and one of them just to be stupid i sprayed GASOLINE into the chamber and stood really far back to make sure i didnt blow my face off and it worked and shot really far. U should try it jus have a fire extinguisher handy. But when u do it wit GAS stand far back with a metal stick and poke the igniter until it fires
