  • Jenny, Could you please tell what charm packs you are using in this video, i would love to make this same quilt for my grandson!

  • @marysplan This is American Primer from two years ago. You won't be able to find it anymore, but just shop around and find a charm pack swatch that you like and try one! They are very cost effective and you always get something fun!

  • I love your videos! They are very informative and please keep the charm square ideas coming. I have a full tub of them

I was wondering how many packs would it take to make a queen size and how much fabric for the borders?

    Thanks

    Mandy

  • i wish i had watched this before i started, i had no idea that you could buy precut squares. I've since found a few places in the uk which do this also and it was much easier this time!

  • I want to make my first quilt for my daughter. How many charm packs would I need for a child?

  • @minois100 @minois100 We do NOT prewash any precuts! It has been discussed on our forums and you can go there for other quilters opinions!! I hope this helps you with your decision! Happy quilting!

  • I have never pre-washed my pre-cuts and I have never had any problem. I use good quality fabric and just sew them up. If yours shrunk you will need to cut them down to a uniform size and then you can do with them what ever you would do with a charm pack, so all is not lost!

  • I washed my charm packs and they did shrink. Now I have to figure out what to do with them. I washed 500 of them then ironed them. The are all different sizes. Don't know what to do with them.

  • Jenny, I watched this tutorial and decided that I would make my first quilt using the Charm Packs. A quilting friend warned me about pre-washing the Charm Packs. She said they shrink and some of the dyes run.

What are your thoughts on pre-washing?

  • i NNNNEED a good iron... any suggestions? also, what does a good iron for quilting cost?

  • who knew quilting could be so easy.
