My Mom, met Jeanette, when she was little. She loved her, and Nelson, and so did I. She had every album, I have them now. I have the Movie. Ther will never be another like them, in all the world. Every time I play it or her the song, I think of my Beautiful Mom, and my Fiance Ray, who passed away too. We will be together someday, in Heaven, this Movie looks like Heaven, wouldn't it be wonderful, if it really was just like this! Thabk for sharing, GIGI

I was writing a newsletter at age 9 to a Hollywood Studio in 1939 when I saw this movie. I was so upset at the thought they killed off my favorite singers of all time, I crumpled up a two page letter and threw it in the bucket, never to write to the studio again. I cooled down a day later after realising it was only a movie. As a joke I used the same crumpled up paper, and finished writing it. Im sure they got a laugh out of it. I did. Im glad all the other movies they made had good endings

Love them together.. But I believe my own musical tasres were profoundly influenced by Jeanette MacDonald. Times were slim for all during my childhood, but my Mother had the 78rpm album of Jeanette, "Smiling Through." I played it for hours and hours and hours; entranced by her beautiful volice. A shining example of the beauty to be found in life! Thanks to all who posted her music!

If only I were born a century sooner! We have lost so much. This is heartbreakingly beautiful, and so very good and touches my soul.
