POSTMAN PAT - TV THEME - COVER

Postman Pat is a British stop-motion animated children's television series first produced by Woodland Animations. It is aimed at pre-school children, and concerns the adventures of Pat Clifton, a postman in the fictional village of Greendale (inspired by the real valley of Longsleddale in Cumbria).[1]

Postman Pat was first screened on BBC1 in 1981. John Cunliffe wrote the original treatment and scripts, and it was directed by animator Ivor Wood, who also worked on The Magic Roundabout, Paddington Bear, and The Herbs. A second version of the series was made and shown from 2004, which expanded on many aspects of the original series.

In the latest series, Postman Pat Special Delivery Service, its Postman Pat as you have never seen him before. Postman Pat has been given a well-deserved promotion to Head of the Special Delivery Service (SDS), and will now be called on by the SDS to deliver anything, anytime, anywhere! With his faithful companion Jess the Cat, Postman Pat proves that he can be relied on to deliver on time, every time!

Postman Pat SDS features an expanded and diverse cast, a fleet of new vehicles, the new town of Pencaster, and action-packed storylines, all of which combine to create a new high-energy series whilst preserving the heritage and integrity of this much-loved icon. Postman Pat Special Delivery Service first screened on BBC2 on 29 September, 2008. The new series was commissioned by the BBC and produced by Entertainment Rights and Cosgrove Hall.
