@punkfootball6899 I heard that the match was moved because we didn't have stadium lights at that time. Feyenoord did and that's why the match was moved.
-
Btw: it's Willem II instead of Willem 2. Willem II was king William the second (1792-1849) who loved to be in Tilburg.
-
TILBURG TILL I DIE!!!!
-
-
It's OK :)
I believe about the 65000 in Holland
-
Yes you're right. I was wrong. The first match was in Rotterdam (1-1). The second one was at Old Trafford (6-1) and there weren't 20.000 Dutchman. :-)
-
Yeah, but the match featured is at Old Trafford
-
Don't be surprised when i tell you there were 65.000 Dutchmen. 'De Kuip' was sold out. I know this because my father was at that game. Only half of the stadium had seats. In the rest you had to stand. That's why the capacity was so big comparing to now (approx.48.000=whole seated)

are you really sure this is willem 2? cause willem 2 comes from Tilburg and not from Rotterdam, the commentator said Rotterdam

The game was the first competitive European game over 5 years after Munich. The Willem ground was quite small and from what I can recall, it was moved to Feyonoord's ground to enable more fans to see the match.

Great stuff. Got any MUFC stuff from the 70s? Btw, those absurd crowd noises dubbed on by Pathe make it sound like there was about 20,000 Dutchmen there. :)
