This is a video of the daily walk Oskar and Klaus take. It was recorded on January 31st, 2012. Oskar is around 9 months old in this video, and Klaus is 8 years old (if not older). Oskar is 100% blind and has been since birth due to genetic factors. He was born without developed eyes (his lids are basically fused shut).

You have 2 very special cats. I love the way Klaus just strolls down the hallway sticking to the side, he has such a chill personality. Oskar is just incredible, having adapted to being blind so well and always full of life.

I have a deaf white cat with blue eyes (Blizzard) who is always energetic, loves sitting on my shoulders, being vacuumed and is always VERY loud when he meows. Despite being confirmed as 100% deaf I still talk to him and somehow he still responds.

He was a stray for some time and probably had terrible ear mites. The excessive scratching causes a wound/bruise that leads to a hematoma. That, in turn, collapses the ear structure as it scars. He can hear out of it just fine, however.

Not sure about Oscar, but our blind puppy doesn't run into walls. He did a little when we first got him but now he knows where everything is. Animals map our their environment better than humans do...it's what allows a cat to keep track of his territory and a dog to remember where he burried that bone last week.
