A tuneful demonstration of my latest musical gadget - a Symphonie, or medieval Hurdy Gurdy, made by the wonderful Chris Allen (http://www.hurdygurdy.org/). The tune I play is a Cantiga de Santa Maria, called A Mhadre de Jesu Christo.
For a more in depth look at the instrument, have a look for my Symphonie Review video. Sorry about the abrupt ending - there was another tune but I cut it off. I'll rerecord and post.

  • I enjoy this music but I think my neighbors would run at me with pitchforks if I tried to play this. The poor lot suffers through my attempt at playing bagpipes with reasonable humor.

  • @rexmage The symphonie is really quite quiet - sure it's loud if you're sitting next to it, but nothing like a full sized gurdy. It doesn't really project much outdoors, for example. A good beginners instrument!

  • that is really rather cool

  • @WildVelveteenRabbit Thankyou very much!
