@IrishLabourParty Fair enough. But is this not the primary campaign video that is being used to show Michael Higgins as the best choice for presidency of Ireland? If so, would it not be fair to say that a disguised view of people from a large diversity supporting Higgins is not an effective video for demonstrating relevant information that is useful for a voter making a decision in the days approaching polling day?

@pilipinasmabuhay100 Very true. Candidates have had their chance in debates and otherwise, and also I completely agree with the modesty the President has in regards to power as a leader. What I am saying is that this is a very poor television ad campaign. If you were to see this video on your tv screen would you be more or less likely to vote for the candidate involved, when all that is portrayed is what seems to be a collection of home videos with Michael D. Higgins at the end?

@MacCoisdealbha Well, it's only an ad. The candidates already got their chance to speak their minds out during the debates & while talking to voters. The presidency is mostly a ceremonial position. It has very limited powers. Most of the President's actions have to be approved by Dail Eireann. Voters tend to focus on the personal traits and background of the candidates when it comes to choosing the next President. In my point of view, the mere simplicity of the ad is a nice touch.
