  • I recognized the theme. It's a piece originally by legendary NFL Films composer Sam Spence at the close of the Super Bowl VIII highlight film and was picked up for news usage by KHOU in Houston around 1976 (which also confirms my feeling that a LOT of NFL Films themes from that era could have worked for TV news as well).

  • @HamptonRoadsTVFan, It was also on a N.F.L. Films show called "The Defenders" and opened N.F.L. Films presentation of Super Bowl V. Sadly, it's not on any of the N.F,L, Films music compilation C.D. sets.

  • @eyeh8cbs Rick now owns Mouldings & Millwork in Fair Oaks.

  • @eyeh8cbs If I'm right, it was Jim Anthony, also an air personality on the old AM 1380 KGMS, an adult standards station.

  • @tkaye2 George was on KTVU-2 from 1972 to 1974. They went tot the 10o'clock nes after The Tuck, Fortner Report 1970-1971

  • I used to work for KXTV 79 84 Dave Port was always working at on it , breaking down all the time. I miss Jen and Dick

I.worked in the news room as a video tape editor.

    good days .

  • @DanielSelby1965 Clearly George Reading was the "stud" anchorman... look at all the different poses he strikes in the intro while Dick Cable looks more reserved in his jacket and tie.

  • The mid-to-late 1970's was when TV weather forecasts began adding color radar, as opposed to either black-and-white radar or none at all.

  • So, Corinthian owned 10 for 25 years? They were the company that bought 10 from Sacramento City Telecasters in 1959 and changed the call letters to KXTV.

Sac City Telecasters put 10 on the air back in '55.

  • I find Rick to be very good looking actually. Say what you negative people will. This is my opinion and I am free to have it!
