startin up the s12 with ca18 and walkin around. Stupid silencer made the car sound rice.

i have myself the same car, and wanted to know if there was any engine bay modifications that you have to do to put the enginebay to make the motor fit. i want to get the ca18det and put it in mine. my turbo seals broke on the stock ca18et and want to do the swap. thanks man.

@Maxrev solid, sure. But there's no replacement for displacement. My sr is fully built, and i'm making far more power with the sr. A lot eaier too.

but your ca is far better (much more solid) than a sr

only win situation for sr is aftermarket and weight

@blindbutnotdeaf0214 you can drop the KA in there. my boy Rich dropped on in his s12, ALOT of custom work to get it in but anything is possible.

the et is a single overhead cam and the det is a dual overhead cam i havnr did any thing yet but i wont be cause my iol pump died and i put a piston through my block :'(

Just wondering, couldnt you just swap the head from the DET onto the ET since they are the same engine?

Or are there other differences that make swapping the entire engine a better/easier choice?

Very nice S12! Still not got round to putting a DET in mine yet and have owned it 13 years now!
