The target audience for this video series is 10-11 year old boys. Science based videos for an older audience can be found on our YouTube channel. For more information visit our non-commercial, non-religious website - www.yourbrainonporn.com

It's an unsettling fact that by age 11 most boys have been exposed to pornographic images. Yet few materials on the subject address such a youthful audience. If you're a parent, it can be surprisingly difficult to find a good way to discuss pornography. You don't want your child to see sex as "forbidden" or "dirty," but no matter how sex-positive you are, you sense that porn isn't the best way to gain a sex education.

"Things You Didn't Know About Porn" was developed with the help of a dad who teaches science. It helps kids, parents and teachers become knowledgeable about the potential negative effects of pornography use. Scientifically based and non-religious, "Things You Didn't Know About Porn" describes some potential pitfalls of porn use in simple, easy to understand terms. It draws a parallel between junk food and porn, and explains why these activities have the potential to "train" the brain, and become unhealthy habits. This lets youngsters make more informed choices about all potentially addictive substances and activities.

This YOUTube series, "Things You Didn't Know About Porn" is excerpted from an audiobook of the same name available from www.iAmplify.com. The audiobook includes reference materials for parents and a PDF text of the entire book, as well as bios of the BodyWisdom team.

  • Humans are drawn to sex, it is preprogrammed

religious people fighting against basic human programmings makes me laugh. I can agree that there is a time for everything that includes not going for the easy route. But religious people.. seem to lack balance here.

Balance is the key no .. abstinence.

Nothing wrong with porn, to much is bad but to much of everything is bad. To little is bad to..just look at the religious people unable to deal with sex.

  • @masticina The makers of this video are not "religious", don’t believe in sin, and don’t want to ban porn. This is an educational for boys ages 10-11, not a sermon. Balance sounds nice, but it may not apply to internet porn use – especially when many boys begin daily porn use before they start masturbating. No other generation was exposed to a delivery system like high speed Internet. Watch yourbrainonporn series for a better understanding of how "playboy" differs from Internet porn

  • @katoness Because this video series is meant for 10 to 11-year old boys, as stated in the above description. If you want something for adults, watch our 6-part series - Your Brain On Porn: Porn Addiction

  • @masticina

Islam is sinful,we must kill anyone who practices it.

  • @BodyWisdomVideos

Well yes in the past the brown envelope and "wooden box with a lock" but remember where was always the Bathingsuit catalogue.

Yes the internet makes it much easier to get PORN. And even the porn that is.. something I personally wouldn't do in bed.. no! So really the porn that is out there is sometimes indeed something most people not going to do.. I agree in that point.

But the desire, the lust, the understanding... always was there already.

  • @HABRADASHR

Wow then why does Islam still exist..

After all every men and female lusts...

Same really to those who follow the bible.. if you don't kill directly at the breaking of the first laws.. why are you claiming to follow them?

  • @masticina I agree with BWV, this seems not to be a sermon. It is an informative video aimed at informing kids and thus empowering them. That being told, religion falls under the heading of too much is no good just like the rest.

  • Porn is Haram and we do jihad against anyone who uses it.

  • Why did you have to show a picture of my keyboard at 9:03? Why?

  • Sex within proper bounds has never been a bad thing. You are the one that doesn't get that there really can be no middle ground. We must have strict rules, or we must be free, but soft rules, that is "middle ground", can't be had because of human nature. You almost said as much yourself.

  • awesome content, didnt like some of the pictures of girls as im trying to recover frm sex addiction, thanx 4 vid

  • @Inovocre12 That's not what we have seen over the last 5 years. Most porn addicts start using porn around ages 10-12, when their brains are most vulnerable to plastic changes and addiction. Daily use causes changes in the brain. When the men stop using porn, the addiction-related changes turn around. We know this because the men do not seek other addictions, and they experience an array of benefits, such as extra energy, confidence, more focus, greater sociability, better moods, etc.

  • @Inovocre12 If you are addicted to meth, and stop buying and using it, that is a bad thing? Please elaborate.
