stop living in the past guys. Layne (RIP) is one of the greatest singers in the history of rock, but he's gone now. this is the future. DuVall is no "replacement" for Layne, but he is more than worthy to being AIC's new singer. DuVall kicks ass 'cause he's singing his heart out, and AIC still kicks ass!

Layne Staley is NOT Alice in Chains. Layne Staley IS dead, however. And Alice in Chains have resurrected their careers. Kudos to Cantrell for doing this in the face of all these whiners who act like they knew Layne better than he did. They paid tribute to Layne, and laid the old lineup to rest. This new AIC has absolutely NOTHING to do w/Layne. And they sound great.

I think BGWTB has a more mature sound than before. I mean, you want the guys to change up the sound, or else it gets boring. I really like it. As far as Duvall goes, he isn't Layne, but he's just trying to be himself. I think he was chosen because he and Jerry have a great harmony together, he and Jerry have worked together in the past, and Sean and Mike really liked him too. I'm glad Jerry started writing again, and gave us such a wonderful album.

@bcgabriot Oh, aren't you just SO mad! YES you are! OH yes you are!! Him is just so mad that BGWTB is selling as well as ANY offering AIC had w/Staley that he must insult them, how fucking gay. The music on the new album is actually BETTER imo than pretty much all of AIC's older stuff, with the exception of a few songs, so you can cram your sour grapes right up your bunghole, bitchboy. Cantrell rules.

@NirvallicaGuitarist Jerry the driving force behind AIC? That's laughable at best. Once again - how the fuck is AIC still AIC if the fucking backup singer is now the lead singer? I'd hate to break it to your simple little brain, but that's called a different band. And Mike Starr was better for the band but Mike Inez was basically just as good, so of course no one was that upset when he was replaced. Duvall on the other hand, doesn't even hold a finger to Layne. Now go fuck yourself idiot.

The new shit isn't AIC, it's just Jerry Cantrell's solo band parading around as AIC and mixing in shitty covers of old AIC during their concerts (Duvall is awful during these old songs). Listen to Cantrell's solo stuff then come back and tell me this new shit isn't exactly the same. Duvall isn't even the lead singer.
