We needed a Reagan, but got a Great Pretender instead.
Ronald Reagan would have known exactly what to do in times like these, and he would have convinced us to go along with his solutions, and they would have worked. Because Reagan always new that freedom was always the answer, and that government was most often the problem.
But we must face the fact that there is no Reagan to save us. The only one who we can look to for our economic salvation is the Pretender Obama, the chosen one. He will do exactly the opposite of what Reagan would have done. He will increase government spending, which in turn will increase the rate at which the government grows; the Great Pretender will lead us into another Great Depression, we a doomed.
But are we doomed for certain? Because if the Great Pretender Obama, the chosen one, decides to mimic FDR completely, then he will enter us into the biggest war that we have seen since FDR's Second World War. The only question left to be answered is, will entering a war like that have the same economic results as it did in WWII; only time will tell, we shall see.

What Would Reagan Do If He (Rather Than Obama) Were Our Next President?
What would Ronald Reagan do if he (rather than Barack Obama) were our next president?
Since Obama will chiefly need the collaboration of a Democratic Congress and the vast federal bureaucracy to push through his stimulus program (and the continuation of the disastrous Bush-Paulson bailout boondoggles), we will wind up relying on those fabulous folks who brought us Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac for economic salvation. And theres more — Were also at the mercy of tax-dodging Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-NY), who is the chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee which oversees U.S. tax policy. This is the gang that cant shoot straight—except to the foot.
When he was president, Reagan tried (but did not always succeed) to shrink rather than grow government in its size, spending and influence. Reagan compared government to a baby having an alimentary canal with an appetite at one end and no sense of responsibility at the other. Reagan said, Government does not really solve problems; it subsidizes them. And it does not produce a dime of revenue. It can spend only what it takes from the pockets of the working men and women of this country.
So, what would Reagan do if he (rather than Barack Obama) were our next president? Hed reverse Obamas paradigm, relying on private citizens and private enterprise rather than big government to spend money not from tax rebates or tax credits but from ongoing tax cuts aimed at lowering the taxes that citizens actually pay. This worked for Reagan and for the country just as it worked after John F. Kennedy died and his advocacy of tax cuts was followed (temporarily). It not only stimulated the economy; it raised government revenues.
Reagan said that, growth, prosperity, and ultimately human fulfillment, are created from the bottom up, not from government down. What this means is giving money and power to the people, not the politicians.
Reagan defined as the backbone of our country: Americans helping themselves and each other, reaching out and finding solutions—solutions that government and huge institutions cant find.
Reagan famously said, Government is not the solution to our problem; government is the problem. At a time when Obama is saying the opposite, what do you think?

fuck you ronald reagan you punk ass bitch you ruined this country so the rich would benefit. ussr was on the verge of collapse already with its failing economy and you take credit? u spent trillions of our money on weapons that we didnt need and use them to bomb innocent civilians in third world countries, run up a deficit into the trillions and defied congress. so my bottom line:
i hope you're burning in hell for what you did, and i ask any of your diehard lovers to try and tell me I'm wrong

@jbranstetter04 first of all thats not a lie i may have been too simple about it but it is the truth. so is everything that i said in my first post. u give me a reason why reagan was not the worst ever.

@bighands1992 That is fair, for me to make positive points about one of the greatest Presidents of all time. Where shall I begin, as there were so many great things about the man?? First, it is an impossibility that he could be the worse. The economy grew after his policies were implemented, therefore he cannot be the worse. Also, he built up our military to economically break the evil Soviets, and it worked. He lowered tax rates, and yet, took in more revenue. A well read man as well.

@jbranstetter04 the economy may have grown, but there were also some serious recessions during his presidency. And you are correct he greatly built up our military to intimidate the ussr. but the ussr was bankrupt from its occupation of afghanistan and the satellite states were beginning to revolt. and what did reagan do with our huge military? he murdered millions of innocent ppl in nicaragua, el salvador, iran, iraq, and so on. btw his administration labeled nelson mandela as a terrorist.

@bighands1992 Nonetheless, he was a great President in my eyes. He did more good than bad. He gave the American people hope for a brighter future. He was a positive man who came along at the right time. Your comment about the Soviets is very debatable. Yes the Afghan war weakened them, and yes the satellites were getting restless, and without the pressure that Reagan put on them, they might have been able to hang on, but Reagan and his policies pushed them over the edge, in my opinion.
