What is that Phallic symbol doing in our living room?

In Jeremiah 10:2-5 We see a description of a very common object which is dragged into people's houses in the month of December every year. A tradition originated by godless pagan people from long long ago and it represented their worship of a particular part of the male body and fertility. Why do so many people catholics, protestants even Jews and others still practice this most vile of customs?

okay the Phallic symbol isn't vulgar because it's a representation a fertility. you said it yourself. Believe it or not you were created by SEX. and if your mother or father wasn't fertile you wouldn't be here. the Phallic symbol is an uncensored celebration of life at conception. there's nothing wrong with sex. Everyone does it. The religion's of the world that say you can't are putting their followers in emotional shackles.

@Dimebag719 Agreed, It's definitely a symbol of SEX and fertility. This rite, practice and ritual existed well before the birth of Yahshua the Messiah ( Jesus Christ) the problem is that the two have nothing to do with each other. The ancient fertility celebration was a pagan false religious event that was later pegged to the one and only true Son of God. This is wrong. In the bible itself Yahweh tells us to not attribute false religious acts to Him and to His Son.  That's why this is wrong.

@AprioriAustin Yes, absolutely and if you look in a cemetery there are obelisks and these are used over FreeMasons' graves and they are all phallic symbols. We shouldn't be surprised that churches or religions would use such a base and vile thing, because right in the heart of the Vatican in the very center of St. Peters Cathedral square or I guess you would call it a circle, there is an actual Egyptian obelisk and then there is The Washington Monument. False Pagan religion and Government.

Most of the time, I'm just reading out of the New King James Version and I just change "The Lord God" or "The Lord" to Yahweh and I change "Jesus" to Yahshua etc. There is not perfect translation. The original is perfect but men have translated it and so you need to pray to the Father for help by His Holy Spirit to guide you to understand it and seek out wise people who can help you to understand it too. I use many translations. Green's interlinear is a good one buy heavy! check Online

@YahshuaTheKing assuming youre right. but of course there's no way of knowing. your religion is just as "false" as mine (pagan). because you dont actually know. and the bible also says. You cant shave, you can sell your daughter into slavery, and you cant eat shellfish. sorry but the only thing the bible does for us is create problems.
