I really like the points you hit here.

However, I think showing pride and the whole Gay Pride thing is b/c gay people are saying "we won't let you tell us we're wrong/freaks/sinners, we like ourselves for who we are" ~ that kind of thing.

Heteros don't need the pride parade because everyone sees hetero- as the "default" sexuality. : /

I think the pride thing's cool, not only because people can get together to show pride, but because, gay or straight, people should be proud of who they are.

I live near Seattle as well, and here's my thoughts on what you're saying. Being gay is just that, being gay. You don't "do" gay, it's not a behavior, there's no element of choice. What's there to be prideful over? I believe you should speak up when somebody tries to undermine or insult homosexuality through a mis-perceived view, and work towards developing understanding (and therefore equality) but what is there to be 'prideful' over? similarly, what is there to be ashamed of?

I understand what you mean. Its like you get pride from doing something or acheiving somehting not fucking a guy in his ass. Well, unless you're really good at it then you can have all the pride you want. Anyways, you're hot too. mmm =)
