Very moving! What a treat to view such magnificent icons. I believe the many varied Madonna and Child depictions lend support to the fact that she is the Mother of all, regardless of race or culture.

I have a question for all of you because ive noticed something in many catholic churches around the world. Why are many of the statues and paintings of the Madonna and child in Europe of a black woman and child? Am I seeing things or can one of you guys explain this?
