@Winaska The OF of the Mass in both Latin and the Vernacular can be celebrated either versus populum or ad orientem. The rubrics of the Mass assume that the priest is celebrating ad orientem and gives instruction to the priest when to turn to the people and when to turn toward the altar. It is up to the discression of the priest to determine the orientation of celebration as well as particular church restrictions (If a church only has a high altar on the east wall, he will have no real choice)
I find it interesting that this is a OF Latin Mass, and is celebrated versus Deum...ad orientem, but that the OF Vernacular Mass was still in the versus populum posture...is there a particular reason for that?
