Everybody is an atheist with respect to most of the gods humanity has ever believed in; some of us just go one god further...

And you don't know "obtuse", either.

The one who "brought religion into it" was the one who made the video you've been pathetically trying to refute, silly rabbit. An atheist is, by definition, not religious. A religious parent raises its child to believe in that religion. Prior to that, the child is an atheist. Y'know, prior to the religion bit? Do try and keep up.

I love when they run away in defeat. Have a nice life.

The word atheist means a lack of belief in gods. You're the one who brought religion into the discussion. Now go away and stop being obtuse. People will like you better for it.

(This is the part where I ignore further comments from you.)

The eloquence of your argument is overwhelming. Yup, sure is.

Do you even know what a strawman is?

No, because I read your original comment. I'm looking at it now. it isn't about gods, it's about the "all babies are atheists" statement.

You do realize you raised a strawman from your first reply by dragging religion into a comment originally about gods, right?

Left to themselves, not taught how to think, nor the demonstrable realities, they'll create *explanations*, not religions. Religions come later, over generations. That is, unless you're defining every minor superstition or fantasy as a religion, but you shouldn't. Religion includes dogma, rites and ceremony, assertions of truth from authority, etc.

The point is in the specificity, regardless, not the generalities you keep bringing up. No child would believe in any specific religion on its own.

You're either misunderstanding or being deliberately argumentative. We've identified the part of the brain that makes us believe in false positives. It is in our nature to create gods. This is why we have religions. From beginnings of simple gods of thunder and lightning followed by thousands of years of development come intricately detailed mindtrap religions.

It matters not that babies are atheists. Left to themselves, with no indoctrination whatsoever, people WILL create religions.
