  • Damn, it's so hard to choose. If it sounds really awesome and catchy I put it as long as it has some subject matter connection to the last bar.

  • I choose subject matter, but a great MC needs both

  • Subject matter>>>Flow

  • @LucidDreamTricks If Em had been rapping about how sick Vanilla Ice was in "Stan," I'm sure it would've been just as commercially successful.

  • @binhthanhvo There are lots of successful songs that people don't even understand the words.

No one will ever bother to listen to the words if they don't first like the flow and production. The subject matter is the least important thing about songs.

  • I read this in "How to Rap". He's right.

  • whats 5"9 his height?

  • @GURULUDE1 i wouldnt call this a "duhh moment" because hip hop is all opinionated so i can think flow means more than subject matter which in most ways i do because lets face it ...theres lots of rappers out there who talk about htinkgs you could be hit with 2morrow( for ex. immortal technique...talks about politics mainly and the real world outside of america) and then theres rappers who dominate a flow which makes listening to them more interesting...

  • Royce da 5'9 "Death Is Certain" is incredible
