Say, your a US Army Ranger in a battalion who just completed Ranger School and you had the choice to get into a Sniper Platoon and you attend the Army Sniper School and fail. Would you have the chance to repeat the course or would you just go back to your unit as a normal Ranger who wasted his chance to become a Sniper???
