Car companies always round up on displacement. The 328 is considered a 3.2 and the 308 a 3.0 the '8' refers to the fact that there are 8 cylinders.

To set things straight: Its 100 percent a 308 (an early carburettor model as it has a single exhaust and not 4) but it has 16 inch 328 wheels and not the original 14 inch wheels. The 308 displaced 2926 cc (close to 3.0 litres)the 8 standing for 8 cylinders, therefore 308. The 328 displaced 3176 cc (close to 3.2 litres)and the 8 standing for 8 cylinders, therefore 328!

They are not 3.28 litres or 3.08 litres,the 308 is 2926cc and the 328 is 3176 cc. The 8 in the name refers to the model number.
