A short film made by Max Davis for our film class at the Boys and Girls Club. It is a video that represents Dorchester life. Made in early 2003. The end of the video (with the skateboarding and dancing) has the Konks. That's not even in Dorchester.
hmm im assuming this is Lower Mills or at least close to it because i live in Dorchester as well (off of Blue Hill Ave next to the Franklin Hill pjs) and it's nothing like this
Max, your parents should be so proud of this video. I lived on Everdean St., off of Freeport St.? I miss it so much and keep saying I'll go back, but time has a way of slipping away too fast.
This is right across from Cotus Beach. I watched the nun paint that gas tank. Wow, I'm commenting again because this is sooooooo great. I did a lot of sidewalk drawings as a kid too. God, I AM OLD. Also, my dad had a sail boat at Savin Hill Yaught Club and we'd always get just "a wee stretch of the legs" and walk there from out house on Everdean Street to help him scrape the bottom of the boat.
Your video made me cry! I am origanally from Dordhester, moved to the South Shore (Abington) because of forced busing, now "old" and living in Florida. You captured the real feeling of how I felt growing up there. I felt happy, safe, secure, and most of all, like I belonged. We had our little "gang" on the street, mostly hung out at Cotus and Malibu beach, even in the winter; God I miss it!
I love it!! I was born and raised in Dorchester, Mass.!! I moved here (Pa.) when I was just 14, in 1983 -28 yrs. ago!! I lived on Washington St. Such wonderful memories, WOW I miss home!!! Great video! Thanks for posting. ~ Smilez, Amy in Pa. :):)
