  • Rick is very physically talented. He has very good rolls and is good at explaining them. However if you try to copy the over the head dive roll that he does you are asking for a knee in the face. This is very dangerous (buts looks good). Have the student stand sideways and tuck his head for safety.

  • Great instructions. Thanks for the video. I'm looking forward to diving over tables and things for no reason, hahah! =D

    One question, though: I just started judo about a month ago, and the forward rolls there look basically the same, except most of the better people don't put their hands down, where here, you are. Could you explain the difference/reasoning behind this? Both rolls seem very graceful, dissipating the impact well, but the technique is slightly different...
