@YoniO thats never going to happen at all you would see NJT ACES from frankford to trenton not stops and NJT ACL deadhead to MMC just for railfans but not paasneger service.
-
mammoth!!
-
They are alp-46, not alp-44. ALP-44 has a corrugated side panel and are shorter and have a \\\ njt logo on the middle of the side.

NJtransit has a rail yard in pennsylvania in morrisville, but they do not have service that connects NYC with philly, you get off the NJtransit train at trenton, and get on the SEPTA R7 train to get to philadelphia, or take amtrak. Amtrak allows NJtransit to operate on the morrisville to new york city along the NEC. The full NEC is operated by operated by amtrak, and a few other companies, NJtransit does not operate on the full NEC route.
-
that must be why I see some NJTS in PA
-
The NEC is a mostly amtrak owned stretch of electrified tracks that go between DC and boston. NJ transit only operates on the NEC stretch between morrisville, pa and sunnyside, queens nyc. Passenger service extends only between trenton and new york penn station, though NJ transit has rail yards off the ends, one being in PA, and the other being in queens, NY.

Ooooohhh... I haven't seen any NEC extended to Boston.
-
The NEC line extends from boston south station to washington union station. NJ transit only serves between trenton and new york on the NEC, though there have been proposals from time to time to have service extended by nj transit to 30th street station in philadelphia. Currently there are no such plans in the works.

no it was 11 not including the end alp44
-
the NEC line ends at philadelphia.
That is a 12 car consist. I believe the electric's can only handle 7 multi-level cars at a time. Anything more and you have to add a second traction unit at the back. Those "super cruisers" as quoted from a njt driver can only platform 8-10 cars at a time at some stations, so they are usually used for express service on the NEC.

The multilevels operate on the NEC, NJCL, M&E and one roundtrip to Great Notch. They are used on locals and expresses. You'll find a single ALP46 push-pull up to 10 cars and an ALP44 push-pull 8 or 9.
