For years, the 860-kilometer long road between the Peruvian cities of Lima and Pucallpa has kept a high percentage of the countrys 28 million people connected. Over time, however, the wear and tear of heavy traffic flows have left it damaged and in dire need of repair. The revitalization of this road is one of the 31 priority projects under the Initiative for the Integration of Regional Infrastructure in South America or IIRSA.
